AFM/DFM Disabler — full body (replica)

Get the reliable performance you paid for

You bought a V8. What you drive most days is a V8 that keeps pretending to be a four. This module stops the cylinder cycling that causes the shudder and wears the lifters down, and it does it without rewriting a single line of your factory software. Plug it in, drive the truck, and pull it out whenever you want.

Avoid the four-figure lifter repair that ends most of these engines.
Smooth power at cruising speed, without the low-load shudder.
Fully reversible, so your resale value and your warranty stay intact.

Your GM engine is destroying itself every time you drive

Active and Dynamic Fuel Management shut down half your cylinders to save fuel, then bring them back. Your truck does this thousands of times on a single trip. Every one of those switches puts load on the same handful of lifters, and they are the parts that give out first.

Lifter failure

The collapsing lifters that make cylinder deactivation possible are the ones that wear out. When one goes, it can take the camshaft lobe with it and send metal through the engine. This is a known pattern on these motors, not bad luck, and it usually shows up between 80,000 and 150,000 miles, right after the warranty runs out.

The 40-50 mph shudder

That rough vibration you feel cruising at low load is your truck sitting in four-cylinder mode. Most owners learn to live with it. It is not a quirk of the transmission and it is not the road surface: it is the engine running on half its cylinders and hunting for which mode it wants to be in.

A $4,000 to $8,500 repair

Once a lifter fails you are into a teardown. Twelve to fourteen hours of labour before a single part is paid for. Plenty of owners get the quote, do the maths against what the truck is worth, and walk away from an engine that was fine everywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what owners ask us before they order.

1Will this void my vehicle's factory warranty?
No. The module talks to your vehicle without rewriting any factory software. Unlike a permanent tune or a delete, nothing is flashed and nothing is stored, so there is no electronic footprint left behind. Unplug it before a dealer visit and the truck is exactly as it left the factory. That is the whole reason we built it this way instead of as a tune.
2How hard is it to install?
You do not need a mechanic and you do not need a single tool. The OBD-II port is under the dash on the driver's side, just above the pedals. The module pushes straight into it until it clicks. That is the entire job, about thirty seconds. There is no app to download, nothing to pair and nothing to configure. Start the truck and it is already working.
3Will it drain my battery if I leave it plugged in?
It is designed to live plugged in. The module only draws power while the engine is running and drops into a sleep state once you shut the truck off, so it does not sit pulling current overnight. If your truck is going to be parked for months, you can simply unplug it, it takes a second and nothing is lost.
4Does it really help prevent lifter failure?
The wear comes from the constant switching between eight and four cylinders. By keeping all cylinders active, that cycling stops, and so does the repeated load on the lifters that do the deactivating. Think of it as preventive maintenance, not a repair: it will not fix a lifter that has already collapsed, but it removes the thing that wears them out in the first place.
